Hello, Ashburn Pages!
I'm taking a course through the County's Human Resources Dept., and we have been asked to do a project in our own agencies. My goal is to address our unique difficulty of having a Page conversation--the library is staffed over 52 hours weekly and all pages work part-time. Meetings are not possible. This blog will last at least the length of my training (mid-June), maybe beyond if there is interest and utility.
This blog will not take the place of e-mail; Steven and I will continue to e-mail both to the group and to individuals. What this blog can be is a forum for the page team to make suggestions, ask questions you think all might benefit from, and to raise concerns. If you wish to post something, respond to a post (like this one) by clicking the Comments link.

This is a great idea, but I don't look anything (much) like the page in your photo!
Would it be helpful to have a lead page (or one for each supervisor) that would be responsible for training new pages and disseminating information to the rest of the pages?
Discuss.
If you could work every other weekend (instead of having to work exactly 12 hours per pay period), would you be more inclined to work weekend shifts?
Talk amongst yourselves . . .
What are stats for, besides tracking our every move, and why are we the only group that does them (why not circ)? Does it matter how fast or slow we shelve? Is excellent performance rewarded with any kind of incentive (bonuses, raises, paid vacation)?
